The No. 21 Memphis Tigers (3-1) forced 20 turnovers and held Siena (2-5) to 34 percent shooting from the floor to post an 87-60 win in the first round of the Old Spice Classic on Thursday night. Joe Jackson led the Tigers with 18 points while Shaq Goodwin totaled 17 points and 10 boards for his second career double-double. Michael Dixon Jr. (16) and Austin Nichols (12) also reached double figures as Memphis shot 54 percent from the field. The Tigers also posted a season-high 11 blocks.
Memphis will face the winner between LSU/St. Joseph’s tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. (CT) in the semifinals. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
